Challenges

I have had many challenges in my life, but deciding to come back to school is a challenge in itself. I never would have thought I would even get to the age I am now, after almost dying in 2004; from Cirrhosis. I've learned much from that, and most of all, I found faith. I was never a religious person, of course I believe in Jesus, but never really prayed. After I recovered, which took over 5 months, I knew I was getting a second chance. I didn't decide to come back to school right away, and didn't really learn my lesson from not abusing my body.
To, make a long story short, I owe my life to the doctor's in Canada, God, and my family for sticking by me, no matter what.
If your wondering how I got Cirrhosis, it was from "years" of alcohol abuse, no drugs, but enough alcohol to sink a tanker.

And that for me makes me happy to be able to wake up each morning, knowing I made it. And now after 2+ years of "No" alcohol, my liver is at normal function, I will always have the disease, but I can live a normal full life, as long as I stick to the 12 steps..
